AP: Obama Must Take Vacations to Boost Local Economies

Barack Obama will spend just a touch over a day in the oil spill plagued Gulf Region as a means of healing the land by his mere presence before heading off to Martha's Vineyard for ten days. The AP is now a public relations wig of the Obama administration.

Recall Bush 43's vacations were considered indications he was lazy and irresponsible. Obama's vacations o the other hand are all part of the rolling back the oceans and healnig the planet meme. No word on admirable it was for Michelle Obama to promote Spanish tourism.

I would really like to say I am writing this post with tongue firmly in cheek, but I cannot. There are three disturbing factors at work here.

One, both Barack and Michelle have an obnoxious narcissism that distances them from reality. There is no Kennedy Camelot mystique with these two like they appear to believe there is. Considering JFK’s approval ratings were 32% the day he died, I am skeptical Camelot is not a revisionist history anyway, so I am also resigned to believe history is going to paint the Obama administration as just as glamorous. Regardless of what history writes, Obama honestly does believe his mere presence is special.

Two, the progressive leadership’s sense of entitlement is obscene. There is a palpable notion progressives sacrifice of themselves y foregoing private sector careers I order to ’help people,” therefore they are entitled to luxuries beyond the means of those they have helped as a reward. never mind the Obamas were millionaires prior to entering office or that they have helped people by taking wealth from producers and giving it to moochers.

Finally, I flashback back to Michelle Obama’s comments she has never been proud of her hopelessly racist country. This lavish lifestyle of constant golf games interrupted by extravagant vacations is considered a reward for centuries of oppression, right? The ax grinding mindset over the sins of past generations has far more detrimental as far as public policy under Obama has gone, but this entitlement for the royal treatment is in many ways even more offensive.

The press is cooing over all of it. Not a good sign.
