Perhaps so, and for the most delicious of reasons--the mosque backers do not uderstad American business practices. Welcome to Western civilization, gentlemen.
The mosque backers have no blueprints, no architect to draft them, only half the money for the down payment with few prospects, domestic or foreign for more, no public relations apparatus, no contacts in the real estate development community, an virtually no chance of finding a construction company that will tae on the project. Chalk it all up to no one associate with the project having ay real estate development experience whatsoever.
Breezing passed zoning laws and municipal planning commissions does not mean much when the project cannot not een afford its first brick, much less puts it down.
I am not going to count my chickens yet. It is just as likely some Saudi prince will write a check for the whole kit and caboodle as it is the general incompetence of the project backers will ensure the mosque never gets off the ground. But the facts are that these guys need help, but as opposition to the mosque increases, thereare going to be fewer and fewer willing to give it.
When Howard Dean and Sarah Palin are echoing each other’s opposition, it is safe to say there is across the board barriers for the mosque.
