Billy Ray Cyrus to Investigate Paranormal Activity for SyFy

Science fiction geeks diea little more inside. As if adding wrestling to the channel’s line up was not bad enough, now they have Billy Ray Cyrus chasing ghosts, aliens, and the chupacabra. He has slightly less credibility than when Cass Elliot helped Scooby Doo catch those three ice cream monsters. billy Ray will be joined by his son, Trace, thereby proving he is not yet done exploiting his children for a buck.

What are Billy Ray’s qualifications for this endeavor? He was a oe hit wonder with “Achy Breaky Heart” back in 1992, had a sporadic acting career, once competed on Dancing with the Stars, and hosted Nashville Star, but has spent most of his recent years turning a blind eye to his daughter’s slow transformation into Lindsay Lohan because the Hannah Montana gravy train will not last forever and there is always rehab.

He is from Kentucky, too, so he has probably seen a flying saucer or two I the fields. Probably knows someone who has been anal probed by Orkans or something, too.

Here is his actual rationale for his interest, well written by the press office at SyFy:
"The existence of paranormal phenomena is something I've always wanted to explore further. Getting the opportunity to take this adventure with my son, who has had a keen interest in this area, is a dream come true. I hope the series can shine a light on some of the activities we have questioned, and the mysteries that have log inspired us."
Billy Ray added, "I'm getting paid for this, right?"

I can hardly wait...
