While it is certainly a sensational story with macabre appeal, I cannot help but think the Biblical passages are the hook. Anything to make Christians look mentally ill and dangerous. Nevermind this guy was clearly deranged regardless of his religion.

I hate to see this kind of stuff period, but exploited by those who hate Christians--Perez Hilton has been all over the story, for instance. darn Christians and their evil support of traditional marriage!--makes the tragedy even worse.

Alvin Greene Indicted on Two Charges

A Richland County jury has indicted longshot Senate candidate Alvin Greene on two charges, most significantly a federal charge of exposing pornographic material material to a University of South Carolina student without her consent. Greene faces up to eight years in prison if convicted on both counts.

At least we now know Greene is more from the Bill Clinton "kiss it" wing of the Democratic party than the come out of no where, why would anyone with two brain cells to rub together vote for him Barack Obama wing.

Clarification is always valuable.

Lindsay Lohan Reports to Jail Today

Today is the day Lindsay Lohan reports for her ninety day jail sentence. Evidently, she has very little grip on reality about the situation. Robert Shapiro resigned as her attorney yesterday. While he did not cite a rationale, it is not too difficult to figure out it is because she ha unrealistic expectations about avoiding jail.

Let that sink in a moment. Shapiro is a guy who had no problem aiding in the concoction of a mind bogglingly stupid conspiracy theory involving the LAPD forming a racist conspiracy to frame OJ Simpson, a famous football payer they admired for his actions on and off the field to get him off the hook for double murder. But he cannot handle Lohan.

Does not speak well for what a delusional little child she is no? Her stint in the pokey is not going to be like this, either:

Swiss Refuse to Extradite Roman Polanski

After a ten month house arrest which had much of Hollywood's panties in a wad, the Swiss have decided they will not extradite Roman Polanski. Their rationale is opposition to the "intricacies" of United States extradition law and that Polanski has moved respectfully through Switzerland in the past.

Presumably, the latter rationale means the director has not rugged and anally raped any thirteen year old Swiss girls. Unfortunately, he has done that in the United States ad ought to pay for it. The social contract demads it.

I would speculate the opposition to United States extradition law is European thumbing of their noses at the United States in general. The idea that Polanski has been a model visitor to Switzerland does not say much for them. This is the land of suicide tourism where people can go to take their own lives unhindered by any counseling or sense of morality. To a culture of death, what is the rape of a young child thirty years ago, particularly by such a gifted filmmaker? Obviously, a child’s innocence is inconsequential compared to the immortality of great “art” like Chinatown and Death and the Maiden.

You have to wonder now if more resourceful members of NAMBLa are not considering setting up shop in Switzerland now.

Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to Jail

In a move that should not surprise anyone not named Lindsay Lohan, the young train wreck of an actress was sentenced to ninety days in jail and a rehab program post-sentence for violating the terms of her probation. Lohan’s probation stems from a 2007 drug arrest.

Lohan burst into tears upon hearing the judge’s ruling. I would not normally be cruel enough to think that is funny, but Lohan told the press yesterday that even though the judge hated her, she would surely not be sentenced to jail. Call the sentence a much needed dose of reality for the cocky star.

A reality check is exactly what she needs. Few can argue sitting I jail for three months with a mandatory rehab assignment afterwards is not the best thing that could ever happen to her considering the path Lohan is currently traveling.

Lohan was hauled ito court today after missing seven mandatory weekly substance abuse counseling sessions since December. Her absences add up to nearly two moths of blow off meetings. Judge Marsha Revel scolded loan for an insincere apology, saying she was acing like someone who believes it is fine to cheat as long as you do not et caught. One suspects Loha’s comments to the press, of which Revel is bound to be aware, helped raw the conclusion about her attitude.

Wooda thunk it? It looks like the National Enquirer was right about yet another sex scandal involving a former Democrat presidential candidate.

If only Bill Clinton had known, the two might have gotten along better during gore's eight years as Veepo. At thevery least, they could have offeredadvice on technique.

I can honestly picture the linked alleged account as true. Recall what a bruhaha Gore caused when he grabbed Tipper and planted a big one on her at the2000 national convention? While she was his wife, he was still manhandling her. There is always that suspicion that the wuss beta males are just looking to overcompensate for their weak image at any opportunity. controlling a woman seems to be the popular choice, unfortunately.

OJ Simpson's lawyers went before the Nevada Supreme Court this week to claim jury selection was prejudicial in his trial for armed robbery of sports memorabilia. Simpson was foud guilty and sentenced up to 33 years in prison.

Simpson did not attend the hearing, which is likely evidence of the hopeless argument his lawyers presented. They claimed the jury was prejudicial because there were no whites. They also claimed two black potential jurors were deliberately kept off the jury for no good reason.

In fact, the two potential jurors were associated with prison ministries and both had relatives who had been falsely accused of crimes. While the Nevada Supreme Court is not expected to rule for sometime, the general consensus is the original trial verdict will be upheld.

Thinking back to how much OJ’s original murder trial fired up racial tensions, I cannot help but compare how fifteen, sixteen years later, OJ’s current legal troubles barely register I the public’s conscious. The idea of a racist conspiracy framing OJ for a crime he did not commit, which was absurd on the ace of it, still resonated with many back then. Now similar claims do not even become a laugh line on late night television.

To offer up a sense of closure on an issue the Eye has been following, CharlieSheen will plea bargain to thirty days in jail for the Christmas Day incident in which he allegedly pinned his wife to the bed while holding a knife to her throat.

There was some assumption Aspen, Colorado prosecutors wanted to make an example of Sheen's drunken and/or drug induced violent behavior to other celebrities who might think they can violate community standards of conduct and remain untouchable. No such luck. Thirty days in jail is a slap on the wrist considering Sheen's history of pattern behavior. his punishment will not serve as a deterrent for anyone.

Bonus points awarded for Sheen getting out of jail just in time to enjoy his new multimillion dollar, two year contract on his still top rated, still juvenile show Two and a Half Men. A show on which, need I remind you, he plays a drunken, sex obsessed man-child. A stretch, I know, but somehow the master thespian swigs it.

David Kernell Convicted of Hacking Sarah Palin's E-Mail Account

It took the jury four days to convict him. While it is impossible to read a jury’s mindset, I suspect they were torn between knowing Kernell had broken the law and the argument that he was attempting to influence the 2008 election. The former is obvious. The latter is a little far fetched.

Nevertheless, Sarah Palin took to her face book account an drew a parallel between her personal correspondence having been accessed and Watergate.

Palin is the cat’s meow as far as I am concerned, but I think she is being overly dramatic here. Kernell’s father is a democrat state representative in Tennessee. The kid probably does not like republicans and being the reckless sort, hacked Palin’s e-mail account just to embarrass her. Maybe he expected to find something that would jeopardize her spot on the GOP ticket, but that is farfetched.

What he did do was allow screenshots of her account to appear on the internet. That resulted in harassing phone calls because Bristol Palin’s cell phone was clearly visible Such was his likely intention--just to bean obnoxious pain.

Kernell could potentially face twenty years in ail. He will not get anywhere near that. This is going to be considered a college prank more than some attempt to influence a national election.

On the bright side, Keith Olbermann is really upset Palin did not perjure herself like he had hoped. So there is that.
