This question is obvious to answer not that the show is over. Everyone eventually joined Team Jacob after Smokey murdered nearly all the Candidates. But itt would not make for an interesting answer to just go along with the crowd, would it?Philosophically speaking, I am more in line with Smokey. He recognizes the evil of human nature. It is actually man’s sinful nature, but Lost would never take the step of admitting as such. Smokey’s urge to go along with people to the outside where he can indulge with the population’s vices in general confirms the corrupting factor the urge to sin has.
Considering Jacob, who is supposed to represent all that is good, created Smokey in a jealous rage, there is confirmation that even is corrupted. Not all his actions in pursuit of protecting the island were pure as the driven snow. Barring redemption, he was arguably Team Smokey himself, just in denial.
