My favorite story arc was the second season’s Swan Station story. With it, we had three of the most interesting story elements introduced: Locke’s desire to be important, Desmond’s sense of duty versus his desire to follow his heart, and the DHARMA Initiative I liked Locke’s desperate attempt to find meaning in his life. It was rather poignant for him to learn he was ding right by pushing the button, but screwed up in the end by doubting himself.
Desmond did not get to play a huge role in the swan hatch story arc as far as screen time is concerned, but at least we got to know him. Desmond was about the most well-rouded and interesting character. He also happened to be a part of what amounted to the only mature romance on the show outside of Rose and Bernard.
Yes, Jin and Su fans. You read that right.
I was disappointed by how the DHARMA stuff played out, but at this point, they were a mystery that could be speculated on by a fertile mind ruined with years of reading science fiction and comic books. I could have dne a lot better fleshing out their story.
Maybe in a sequel, no?
