Mrs Tan's Teochew Yam Paste Mooncakes is BACK!

About 12 years ago... yes, back in 1999, when I was in Form 5, I have a very good classmate who stays 5 minutes away from me. On one day, this friend Daren, brought a box of mooncakes to school. I had never ate this type of mooncakes before - and mind you, since I tried this, I have been looking all over for Mrs Tan's yam paste mooncakes!!!!!

It has been 12 years... 2 years ago, I spotted a stall at KLCC which came close, but still not the same...
Today - Mrs Tan's Teochew Yam Paste Mooncakes are BACK!!!!!!!

It's called Yuanwei Homebaked - or just call it Mrs Tan's Mooncakes lah!!!

It is damn awesome, and I demand you to go try it out.

HOW TO TRY IT OUT?

Es Para Ti, Damansara Perdana

Was at Damansara Perdana the other day to try out this Mediterranean restaurant, which is apparently owned or related to the people who runs Deutsche/German Bierhaus - it's called Es Para Ti. A unique restaurant situated in the quieter side of Damansara Perdana, this place serves some pretty kick-ass pork dishes.

This is the roast suckling pig.... Mmmm yummmeeeehhh!!!

Pork dishes goes best with beer, in this case, the Hoegarden. =)

This is the fettucine carbonara.

The pork and roast turkey pizza!

Ficelle Boulangerie & Patisserie, Taman Danau Desa.

Today was a particularly boring Sunday. Woke up pretty early, and I decided to bring my parents to a new place to try out for breakfast. Usually, we would end up in BSC, but today, I wanted to try something else. The last time I did that - we went to LeVain Boulangerie Patisserie, which mum loved it so much... this time... we ended up at Taman Danau Desa....

Ficelle Boulangerie & Patisserie.

If you observe my following pictures, you'll notice that it does look quite similar to LeVain. Of course silly... it is a branch of LeVain's. =) In fact, to be honest, this is my 2nd time here TODAY. Morning for breakfast, then back again for lunch... and PICTURES of course!

The array of sweet bites and cakes... and plenty of colourful macaroons!

The freshly made pastries and bread. Yummyyy...

Some of the macaroons... =)

The seating here are all fully outdoors, as it is a much smaller place, as compared to LeVain. But there are plenty of shady and huge trees here - so it is pretty cosy and shady. =)

Some of the pastries that we ordered.

The aglio olio spaghetti.

Ohhh.... one more plus point!!!

They welcomed Perry too!!! Yes, while the first time I went to LeVain I brought Fatty and Ally - this time I brought Perry to come and sample the place. He loved it!!!

And here's a picture of Perry with popular travel blogger, Nicolekiss. =)

Not sure how to get here? Here's a little Google map for you. =)

Surisit Thai, TTDI.

Recently, Bok brought us to TTDI to try out this place called Surisit Thai - an authentic and very 'homely' Thai restaurant. As most Thai restaurants in KL are halal or pork free, I was surprised when this place said... NON-HALAL. One look at the menu and I was... mesmerized... wow... the amount of pork that they have.... wowww... I was mouth watering already. =)

The setting was rather kopitiam style, which makes it a good place for families to come for a simple dinner, lunch... or even breakfast!

To start off, we had the kerabu pucuk paku.

The Mun Thod Gapi...

This is highly recommended - and a MUST ORDER!! Super delicious awesome fried pork with shrimp paste and lemon leaves, served with some chili on the side...

Cha Om.... this is some good stuffs!!

I usually order the telur dadar at other Thai places, and this one definitely satisfies my cravings for some good 'telur dadar'. =P

The sour orange curry fish.

The Kao Klut Gapi.

Do note that this belacan fried rice is served with some really good braised pork on the side. =)

The crispy deep fried fish with lime, chili and garlic. Another of my favourites....

Tom yam ka moo. =) Yummmyyyyy....

If you like spicy food and Thai food as well as tom yum as much as I do - then come and make sure you order this. =) This one is truly awesome!!!

and then it came to desserts... mmm mango sticky rice, anyone?

Nagomi Japanese Restaurant, Jaya 33.

Awhile back, I was at Jaya 33 to have some Japanese food hehe.. =) One of the things that I enjoy eating is shabu shabu, and Jaya 33 has this restaurant called Nagomi Japanese Restaurant that has really good shabu shabu!

The waiter helped us mixed the chicken shabu shabu together...

...and made some delicious chicken balls! LOL.

The soup... Japanese shabu shabu is different from steamboat, and the waiter did advise us to put in the onions and so on first - before putting in the meat. =)

The salad.

Sashimi, anyone?

Ben & Jerry's, Orchard Central, Singapore.

One of the things that I love and enjoy to eat is... ice cream. Unfortunately, there are not many quality and good ice cream parlours in Kuala Lumpur. One thing that Singapore has, that KL doesnt - is this... BEN & JERRY'S!!! =)

Just across the Mandarin Gallery is Orchard Central - and here lies an awesome ice cream shop!

With it comes a cute little salesgirl, who looks kinda sporty too with the cap.

Milkshakes, sundaes... you name it, they have it. =)

Guess what I had... hehehehehe...
