FattyCrabs.com, Taman Seputeh.

In the last couple of months, one crab has been making headlines, turning heads, and importantly, feeding stomachs. This crab.... is the one above. =)

Before I get to the details... how about a little introduction first?

Can you recognize the building behind? That is indeed... MidValley MegaMall/Cititel etc. And this... is the bus stop right next to Federal Highway. Everyday, plenty of people walk over from MidValley to this bus stop and take the bus westbound towards Subang and Klang. Right behind this bus stop... is a quiet row of shops, located in a secluded part of Taman Seputeh.

This row of shops... while its visible from the Federal Highway, you would need to turn in way before into Taman Seputeh first, before heading onto Jalan Bukit Raja to find this row of shops.

So... what's at the shops... there's a mamak shop, a 7-Eleven... and then there's this!!!

The Restoran www.FattyCrabs.com =)

Yes, remember the name... www.FattyCrabs.com =)

They started off from just a delivery service, serving quite a big geographic area, covering certain parts of KL and PJ. You can also order FattyCrabs from the popular RoomService as well. Okay... that's the delivery part of the business... Recently, they opened up their restaurant at this row of shops... and being a crab lover, that is why I am here. =P

Here's a jug of 100% Freshly Squeezed Mocktail. After a hot and tiring day, this drink is quite the ideal drink to refresh and quench your thirst. I wanted to try the kedondong as well, but sold out for the day... so I stuck to the mocktail.

For starters, we had the tau foo kang - a thick soup, made from bean curd. Hot; let it warm up your tongue and taste buds and open up your appetite...

I dunno if I should call this the main course or not, but to the Chinese, the noodles/rice etc is always considered the main course right? But I also had crabs today... how? To me, it is so tasty... whack only lorrr....

This one above is the delicious Lala Mee Hoon - Thai Style. If you like the lala mee hoon that you would order from those seafood restaurants in Pandamaran, trust me - you'll definitely like this one! =)

The Yellow Emperor bean braised Soong Fish head.

Once again... if this dish was served anywhere else, I would immediately order rice to go with it. But I didnt - cos I wanted to save my stomach for the crabs, as well as the lala mee hoon... this dish, without rice can be a little salty, but perfect for my liking... truly heavenly! =)

We also had the Ooooo la laa spicy nyonya styled prawn and fish otak-otak. In case you didnt know what otak-otak is - otak-otak is made from a prawn and fish paste mixture, together with plenty of its secret sauces and spices as well as coconut milk. The ones here at FattyCrabs.com is wrapped in a banana leaf and then steamed.. if you are a otak-otak lover, you would love this dish.

Ahhh... the milky melt butter prawns. =)

Delicious, mouth watering and finger licking good. LOL. It is THAT good. I would drive all the way just to order this on its own!!!

....yes, but the main event are the CRABS... your meal would not be considered complete if you didnt try out the Crabs... at FattyCrabs.com, they have about 18 different varieties of cooking styles for the crabs (in contrary to the 2 styles or so at its most famous competitor).

The malat sze chuan crabs. =)

How should I describe this? I would reckon that this one is not for everyone as it can get quite spicy, but I loved it a lot. So, if you are just as adventurous and can take spicyness like me, then by all means, order this!

The Sea Salt Baked Dong Quai Crab.

When this dish came, we actually thought...mmm looks kinda plain and normal isnt it? The looks are deceiving. The moment you sink your teeth into this, you'll find that... wow... how did they do this? The deliciously baked sea salt, with the dong quai aroma plus some awesomely fresh Indonesian orange-clawed mud crab... the best dish here for me!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention this - but here all their crabs are fresh and daily stocked-up Indonesian orange clawed mud crabs, each weighing a minimal of 550 g. =)

The Bei Foong Thong Garlic Crab.

After having the dong quai crab, you'll find that the garlic crab, although good, would still be overshadowed by the dong quai crab. But then again, I am a huge garlic fan... so, the verdict for this dish... MUST ORDER!!!

The all-you-can-eat mantous. =)

Amongst the most universal cooking styles would be this - the red sweet and sour crabs. I had previously tried the green chili sweet and sour crabs (delivered) - and this round, I wanted to try the other variant of the sweet and sour. The sweet and sour style - consist of a chili tomato based gravy (slightly sweet, slightly sour, and slightly spicy LOL), plus slivers of eggs makes it a very smooth texture, and also perfect as a mantou dip.

It is such a good combo - if you know Taman Seputeh well and would like to drive, drive there and dine-in. If you stay within its delivered areas - why not get it delivered to you? Either way, you'll get to enjoy so many variants and different styles of cooking.
