911 Call Exposes Odd Circumstances of Gary Coleman's Last Days

As if you needed further proof Gary Coleman is going to be remembered for all the wrong reasons, allow me to present Shannon Price and the last couple days of Coleman’s life.

While Price has been called Coleman’s wife, she is actually his ex-wife. They have been divorced since 2008, yet that was not public knowledge. How the two managed to keep that quiet from the tabloids which live to beat up on has been Hollywood stars is beyond me. An impressive feat, that.

Price is the one who “discovered” Coleman after his injury. I put discovered in quotes because of her odd behavior during the now released 911call. She told the operator she could not give Coleman first aid because all of the blood was making her ill. She further stated she could not drive him to the hospital because she had a fever and feared she would pass out. Considering the history of domestic abuse between the two, does that not sound odd?

Despite her status as ex-wife, Price told the hospital she had the right to make medical decisions for Coleman. I am going to assume they did not just take her word for it, but regardless, she opted to pull the plug on his life support.

I am not accusing her of anything sinister. Frankly, price seems child-like in her behavior. It is more likely her inability to act properly in the face of Coleman’s accident--assuming they were not fighting, mind you--may have doomed him. Such would cap off a sad life that was pretty much doomed from the start. A man trapped in acute kid’s body forever is not going to have a long, happy acting career. Talk about a serious burn out.
