All Time Favorites # 31--Susanna Hoffs

May will feature a month long countdown of the 31 hottest female celebrities. Lucky me, the first of the month happens to fall on the same day I post my weekly entry for The Other McCain's Rule 5 Sunday. nice how that works out, no?

Just to explain a few things, this list takes the whole package into account; beauty, brains, talent, and all around appeal for me without much concern about what the public at large may think. Natalie Portman does not make the list because her obnoxious progressive politics makes her unappealing. Lindsay Lohan’s drug abuse and lame movie career knock her out of the running, too. As you can tell by the first entry, personal nostalgia counts for a lot. So does geek appeal. It will not be a disappointing list, trust me.

Coming in at 31 is Susannah Hoffs, former lead singer of ’80’s pop group, the Bangles. I have never been a big fan of pop, but the bangles had a good run there for a why with songs like “Manic Monday,” “Hazy Shade of Winter,” "Eternal Flame,” and "Walk Like an Egyptian,” the music video of which gave us the sexiest eyes in rock and roll:Hoff’s sexy side to side glance messed with my ten year old mind almost as badly as the metal bikini Carrie Fisher wore in Return of the JedI. Now you know why my blog is the way it is.Over the years, Hoffs has had a solo singing career which never reached the popularity the Bangles once enjoyed and an acting career in several movies directed by her husband of seventeen years, Jay roach. In spite of her fading popularity, she still has that spark at the half century mark as far as I am concerned:
