When I compiled this list two weeks ago, it did not occur to me Billie Piper would end up ranked the day after the British general election. Funny how that worked out.I have only been able to sit through one or two of her pop songs. Even good pop music is not my cup of java and Billie Piper’s pop is not even I the ballpark of good. Presumably, that is why she switched to acting. She managed to land the plum role of Rose Tyler, the first companion in the revived Doctor Who series in 2005.
Like a lot of actors in science fiction series, she has shown much better acting chops outside of genre shows. Indeed, even her storyline on Doctor Who eventually turned her into a whiny schoolgirl with a silly crush on an older man she can never have. The end result was a step back rather than one of growth for the character. The problem as Russell T. Davies’ fault, but piper has to suffer for it, too. An actress is only as good as the material with which she has to work.
But she is a hot number. Not everyone’s a fan. Her jaw line, for one, has been compared to Pac-Man. She ranks I my book, at any rate.
