For this week's The Other McCain's Rule 5 Sunday, we have Gwyneth Paltrow. Four years ago, she reportedly told Notícias Sábado, a Portuguese newspaper, that she disliked Americans because they were uncivilized and dumb. She later claimed her original intent was to say Americans had a young, work obsessed culture, but words were lost in translation and could you please go see her new movie, the aptly titled Running with Scissors, because the studio is really layig into her for the bad publicity her acerbic comments are causing. (It did not work. Running with Scissors grossed barely half its budget.)
Paltrow has come back into the spotlight in recent days on the promotional tour for Iron Man 2, not just because she is reportedly jealous of the attention co-star Scarlett Johansson is receiving, but because she says looks bad naked these days.
Now that is a smart and civilized thing to say in a major interview, no?
