Generally speaking, yes. I would have to weigh the principles involved. Some of these questions are just way too broad to give good answers. Would I steal a loaf of bread to feed my starving child? Yes. Would I place a bomb in Grand Central Station at the request of his kidnappers? Probably not, but I do not have a child, so who knows for certain? Regardless, I do not have a blanket answer.

I do not believe acting on higher principles would enable me to evade the consequences of my actions. I would sure as the world argue that vehemently, however.
